DanceKit
A Guide to K–12 Incorporation of Dance.

Incorporating dance into K–12 classes ranging from ballet to physics as a teaching method provides students with improved physical literacy and the skills to stay happy, healthy, and active throughout their lives. DanceKit is a series of soft, interactive tools used by the whole body that encourages and integrates dance, movement, and play into the educational system.

DanceKit includes (displayed in order) the Tandem Band—stretchy but durable and intended to be used alone or with a partner, Beast Sleeves—softy, furry, and stretchy to feel like extra long arms or legs, Ribbon Suit—jump, bounce and twirl to see momentum in action, and Purple Puddle—a big crocheted hug or make yourself a ball, up to you!

Sample lesson plans for each tool are shown below, as well as select pages from the printed thesis and photos from the capstone installation.
